The Wii MotionPlus is an add-on released for the Wii by Nintendo on June 8th, 2009 (North America).

Hardware
The Wii MotionPlus contains an InvenSense IDG-600 sensor for better accuracy in games that utilize it. Later units contained an InvenSense IDG-650.

Hardware Revisions
Wii Remote Plus
The Wii Remote Plus was a version of the Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus functionality built in. It was released on November 7th, 2010.
RVLAPNB1
The RVLAPNB1 is a revision of the Wii Remote Plus that was bundled with Wii U systems. The main differences are the back substitutes the glossy plastic found on the old models, and replaces it with a matte plastic. This model also has a sync button that can be pushed through the back cover.

Nyko Wand+
The Nyko Wand+ was an alternative to the Wii MotionPlus add-on released on September 10th 2010. It has all the same capabilities as the Wii MotionPlus, but integrated into the controller.
Memorex Game Controller Plus
The Game Controller Plus was a Wii MotionPlus alternative manufactured by Memorex. It has all the same capabilities as the Wii MotionPlus, but it's integrated into the controller rather than being an external add-on.
